Retired college professor. Mentor to young adults experiencing homelessness. Founder of Yoga in the Park and the Mill City Singers and co-founder of the Mill City Players. Member of Task Force to End Street Homelessness.

J.D. Steele exploded onto the Minnesota music scene in the mid 1980’s along with Prince, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Soul Asylum and The Steeles, putting Minnesota on the National music map forever. J.D. Steele is the founder and director of the Mill City Singers and the MacPhail Community Youth Choir.

Susan Doherty retired from a career in design and management of youth programs, Doherty also served as Executive Director or Interim Executive Director for several nonprofit organizations. She directed a program to place career and college centers in Minneapolis high schools, led planning for Alaska’s School to Work system; provided training to educators, business and community members on helping youth to develop career skills, and conducted leadership workshops for high school students throughout Alaska.

Master's degree in Psychology. Began her career at NIP, initially in the Rape and Sexual Assault Center, and subsequently as a group and individual therapist in the Counseling Center. Concluded career as an individual therapist in a small private practice clinic, The Institute for Therapy.

Co-founder of the Mill City Players and founder of the Cedar Riverside Community Traveling Basketball program. Coach for 25 years, Cedar Riverside Neighborhood volunteer for 10 years. Special education teacher and director, currently MPS Indian Education Special Education DPF

Coach and strategist in the sales and sales management industry. Open to new ideas and motivated to make a difference.
