Good morning, Singers. I hope you all enjoyed the snow as much as was possible!!

Just a quick reminder that we will not be rehearsing this week. April will be busy and great fun. We will be rehearsing on April 6th at the Guthrie and on April 13th and 20th at MacPhail Center for Music at 501 South 2nd Street. Our concert at Capri is on April 16th. We will be back to the Guthrie for our rehearsal on April 27th.

Be That Neighbor will have 3 tables at the MacPhail Music Matters Luncheon at noon on April 29th. There is still room for 6 more people. If you are interested, please email me at cjkittock@gmail.com. It's a fantastic event and you will be glad you came.

Please send me your letters of support for JD for the McKnight Distinguished Artist award. I need them this week and really appreciate your support, as does JD.

Benefit concert featuring the Steele Family

The Steele Family in the Mill District

Be That Neighbor is excited to announce that the Steele Family will be performing a benefit concert in Antonello Hall at MacPhail Center for Music on September 21st, at 7:00. If you have had the privilege of hearing the Steeles, you know what to expect. It will be an evening of joyous music, sung from the hearts of these incredibly talented singers, accompanied by their talented band.
This is a benefit concert for Be That Neighbor. All of the proceeds will go to pay the salaries of JD and Fred Steele who lead the Mill City Singers and to fund the Sallie Steele Birdsong Scholarship. Every program that is sponsored by Be That Neighbor is free to participants and open to all who are interested.
The Singers have been a dynamic and integral part of our community for the last 8 years. We have over 400 singers on our roster and average 60-70 singers at every rehearsal. The Sallie Steele Birdsong Scholarship provides free voice lessons for young people who show outstanding musical ability and interest.

All of the donated money goes to pay salaries. The charity donates all of the work to organize and maintain the Singers, the Sallie Steele Birdsong Scholarship, Yoga in the Park, and every program sponsored by Be That Neighbor.
We will be premiering our video “Be That Neighbor” directed by Jevetta Steele, featuring the Mill City Singers singing music composed by our own JD Steele. It’s going to be an incredible evening. Grab a friend and/or a neighbor and join us.
